Course Report by Peter Watts

The Greens are maintaining a good consistent speed and smooth putting surface despite the mixed weather conditions. We are happy with how they are performing as we enter the worst of the winter weather conditions.

Couch tees, whilst looking worn, are still providing a reasonably good playing surface and are held together due to a well-developed root system. The Fairways are receiving a minimalist cutting strategy with history showing this provides a more consistent playing surface for longer as we work through the winter decline.

On the Project front, we managed to beat the rain in completing the new drainage sections around the 16th and 13th tees, and 12th green. We still have some sand-link laterals to put in at a later date when the weather is drier. We hope to receive the new turf for this area of the course in 2-3 weeks.

Ball Comp Trade In

As we are finalising a new agreement with Peter Jones to continue as our Club Professional, the Pro Shop has now resumed normal trade-in procedures for golf balls won in club competitions. If members wish to add golf balls they are currently holding as credit towards their pro shop accounts they must do so before the 31st August 2015.

Commencing on 1st September a new procedure will be in place for those wishing to add balls won in club competition to their pro shop accounts. This will be managed directly between the Club and the Pro Shop. A further announcement will be made as we approach 1st September. “

The normal arrangements for swapping golf balls for different golf balls are still in place and will continue.
