DRESS CODE
Murifield Golf Club is a friendly and somewhat relaxed club that understands dress sense and standards vary according to each and every individual. The minimum dress standard is neat and tidy at all timesAs you would expect we like to see a high standard of dress on the course and in in the club house. For example, for the men we suggest collared shirts (tucked in) with walk shorts and white socks, or long trousers (not jeans or track pants, please). The following outline provides an indictiative understanding of the dress standard we consider desirable and acceptable.

ON THE COURSE
MEN
ACCEPTABLE:
- Tailored trousers or shorts with a belt.
- Collared shirts or polo shirts. Turtle neck golf shirts meet this standard. Note: Shirts are able to be worn out providing they have been tailored to do so.
- Long socks pulled up at all times OR short plain white socks or ankle type socks with a logo.
- Soft or steel spiked golf shoes.
- Public/Social golfers are allowed to wear clean sneakers.
UNACCEPTABLE:
- Elastic or drawstring Shorts/Trousers. Denim, Tracksuits, Board Shorts or Sports Shorts. No low slung pants/shorts are to be worn.
- Hawaiian style shirts, collarless shirts or t-shirts.
- Excessive or offensive printing or logos.
- Football Wear (Jumpers, Shorts or socks)
- Football socks
WOMEN
ACCEPTABLE:
- Tailored shorts/slacks/Skirts, ¾ length slacks, skirts.
- Blouses/shirts must have collars
- Shirts with small side splits or short basque may be worn outside shorts, slacks, skirts.
- White or fashion golf socks or anklets.
- Soft or steel spiked golf shoes.
- Public/social players are allowed to wear clean sneakers.
UNACCEPTABLE:
- Tights Style or 2 way stretch pants/shorts. No Denim.
- Sun tops or singlet tops.
- Football Wear (Jumpers, Shorts or socks)
IN THE CLUB HOUSE
MEN:
ACCEPTABLE:
- Dress as worn on course acceptable.
- Enclosed shoes or boat shoes. Boat shoes may be worn without socks. Sandals (Defined as having a full heel strap)
UNACCEPTABLE:
- Board shorts, sports shorts, drawstring or elastic waist shorts or trousers.
- T-shirt/shirts with extensive advertising or offensive motifs.
- Collarless shirts other than those specially designed for golf.
- Rubber thongs/masseurs.
- Golf hats must not be worn in the Clubhouse at any time.
WOMEN:
ACCEPTABLE:
- Dress as worn on course acceptable.
- Sandals permitted as footwear.
- Smart casual wear as appropriate for a golf club.
UNACCEPTABLE:
- As per golf course.
- Rubber thongs.
- Casual beachwear.
